Miss South Carolina Daja Dial gave an excellent response to a question proposing a ban on military style assault weapons during Sunday’s Miss America pageant.
DIAL: I don’t, but because I think we need to increase education. We have to go back there. If we teach people the proper way to use guns, then we will reduce the risk on having gun related accidents. It starts with education.
Though she fell short of victory, Dial’s answer resonated strongly with Second Amendment supporters on social media, with some making the argument that her pro-gun response cost her the crown.
